We absolutely loved our weeks stay at this KOA. Incredibly clean, foliage between the sites makes for a very private feel. Pool area was beautiful, there's activities almost every evening. Staff is incredibly friendly and gracious as well. Proximity to Key West made it a great location too! We booked for next year while we were there. Can't wait to return!
My husband and I stayed in a back in RV site for 5 nights. I had reserved 10 nights but had to cut it short due to the no seeums. They nearly ate us alive. We sprayed everything, wore sweats, socks. My husband had 100 bites no exaggeration. We absolutely could not sit outside at all. The landscaping is beautiful and surrounds each site but is a breeding ground for these devils. The pool/hot tub area is a beautiful tropical paradise. As a pool snob the water was clean and perfect in pool and hot tub. Loved that you could bring your own cocktails into the pool and hot tub as cocktails were $15 at the pool bar. A little steep seeing what we are paying to camp there at $240 per night. The bathrooms and showers were spotless. Had a very nice laundry room. Nice place.
Unfortunately, we had bad weather and wasn’t able to enjoy all the amenities this place has to offer, but we made the best of it. The pool area is lined with palm trees and is very secluded and private. Absolutely stunning and gorgeous landscaping throughout the entire park. The bathrooms and showers were super clean and hot water available. They even had kid floating toys in the ocean for them to bounce on, but to cold for us to enjoy. The hot tub made up for it though. 104 degrees feels amazing on yucky days and the kids loved every minute of it. The staff was super nice and friendly and we definitely will be back. We recommend this KOA.
Cons: the dryer didn’t dry any of our clothes. We let it run a full cycle with no luck. So big bag of wet clothes to go.
Power went out due to storm. Other than these few things, it was a fun stay.
Very Expensive, but very, very beautiful tropical park. Pool and bar are excellent, staff is fantastic. Key's paradise, is very relaxing. Recently, redone sites are a bit tight, but plants are gorgeous and add some privacy. Hookups are perfect
I simply cannot say enough positive things about this campground. We have been fortunate enough to stay here in our RV, and we just recently stayed in one of the new vacation apartments. WOW …. This place does not disappoint. The RV sites are large and beautifully landscaped. The laundry facilities are immaculate. We were blown away by the space (and view) in the vacation apartments. The pool and pub are spectacular! Kim and Ashley are the standard for stellar hospitality and bartenders!
I saved the best for last …. Let’s talk about the people — Wendy, Shannon, Lisa, Tammy, Tracy, Linda, Terry, Danielle, Bubba, and the rest of the team (I know I’m forgetting some). You guys are simply incredible. We felt welcomed from day one. You all do a fantastic job at making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated as well as keeping the community clean. Tracy’s yoga class was absolutely fantastic … what a great way to start the day. The live entertainment, activities and events are so much fun!
If you are looking for an upscale resort with a down-to-earth vibe, look no further. Sugarloaf KOA sets a pretty high standard that very few campgrounds can match.
We spent 3 weeks here in July 2023. It is an absolutely gorgeous campground!!! So spacious. Bathrooms are clean and HUGE showers. Plenty of laundry. Pool is warm and big. The food at the pool bar is yummy. The employees are friendly! Definitely will bring our rig back here for more memories!
The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. They are awesome! I just love this place and we’ve been coming here since 2016. The amenities are top notch! Our only complaint we have is the dog park. It would be nice to see them cover it to provide shade for pets because the green turf gets extremely hot on their paws. My Boston Terrier fell because it was too hot on her paws. I will be back next year!!
We stayed here on our cross-country trek to the keys with our camper. It's a really well-taken care of KOA with convenient sites that offer full hook-up. We splurged since it was our honeymoon and got a site with a patio near the pool and it was simply the best choice. Large hot-tub, comfortable seating, and bathrooms nearby were perfect for us. Was it pricey? Sure, but you're in the keys. There is a bus station at the entrance to the campground road that we used to take us into Key West so we did not have to drive in.
